SURF Communication Solutions® develops a suite of hardware and software products that drives a wide variety of applications whose common goal is high-capacity distribution of voice and video. These applications are predominantly developed by media gateway, media server and IMS equipment manufacturers in the telecommunication infrastructure field.

The Surf engine is an off-the-shelf fully converged audio/video media processing subsystem that integrates easily into media gateways and servers. It is available in various integration levels, such as AdvancedMC, PTMC, PCIe and PCI form factor resource boards or DSP chips, which are pre-integrated with leading AdvancedTCA, MicroTCA and cPCI carrier boards and blades.

Surf’s customers can significantly reduce time-to-market while supporting market demands for true convergence of all media types: audio/voice, video, and data (fax/modem), over all networks: IP, mobile, wireline, and wireless - all processed simultaneously on a single DSP.

Surf’s product family is comprised of the following components:

Surf’s development platform enables convergence of Voice + Video + Data across Wireline and Wireless networks. This development platform is supplied with high-level APIs allowing developers to perform all media transcoding functions, as well as hardware-related functions and advanced media channel processing configurations. It is based on SurfWare-Media™ flagship technology, which enables open Universal Port solutions that combine a wide range of conversion engines. These solutions are offered in various levels of software and hardware integration, from chip-level solutions to DSP-farm resource boards.

In addition, Surf’s 3G-324M package enables developers to build 3G mobile network gateway applications using a simple and flexible API. Implementation of the package is in compliance with the 3GPP 3G-324M standard for mobile environments. Together with SurfWare-Media package, the Surf 3G-324M package can be used to build a wide variety of applications including 3G-to-IP audio/video gateways, 3G video-mail servers, video conferencing servers, and more.

Established in 1996, Surf is a privately-held company, headquartered in Israel with offices in the U.S. and Europe, and representatives in APAC. Among Surf’s shareholders are strategic partners such as Texas Instruments™, Intel® Corporation and Motorola. Surf also enjoys the support of prestigious venture capital firms, such as Pitango, Giza and Poalim Ventures.
